finding your way in the desert

This is really what sets rally-raid apart from enduro: here, knowing how to find your way counts almost as much as knowing how to ride. And it's often what people end up enjoying the most.

On my raids, I provide a GPS track that secures the whole route. It gives you the thread to follow, day after day, with no risk of getting lost in the middle of nowhere. But it doesn't ride for you: you stay in charge of your pace and your choices in the face of what the terrain throws at you.

The real pleasure is learning to lift your eyes from the screen and read the landscape. Holding a bearing, spotting a pass in the distance, guessing where the piste runs from the color of the ground. It comes faster than you'd think, and it changes everything: you feel so much freer once you're not relying on the GPS alone.

With me, that learning is part of the experience. I pass on the right instincts little by little, at your pace, and it's at the heart of my own journey as a rider. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than seeing someone gain real autonomy stage after stage. Who I am.
